The following tells the history of Bishop Weeks' mission work after joining the Charismatic Episcopal Church. He is now retired. On July 15,1998, The Reverend Canon Philip E. P. Weeks was received into the International Communion of The Charismatic Episcoopal Church (ICCEC) by The Most Reverend Dale F. Howard, Archbishop of the Southeast Province, and was installed as Canon Missioner for the International Development Agency [IDA], the missionary arm of the Charismatic Episcopal Church (CEC). Through IDA Barnabas Ministries, Incorporated (BMI), has expanded its mission activity into Europe and Africa while continuing our work through 1999 in the Philippines. Now he is Bishop for International Mission and Auxiliary to Archbishop Howard. Bishop Weeks is responsible for his own travel expenses, and IDA does not give him a salary. His connection is strictly mission. Barnabas continues to depend upon faithful supporters for our financial needs. The call which God has given Bishop Weeks is the nearest thing to what Saint Paul received from Macedonia that you might hope to find in modern days. Through the International Development Agency of the Charismatic Episcopal Church, Bishop Weeks is making a difference in young congregations and new churches in the Philippines, in Europe and Africa.
While the Charismatic Episcopal Church's growth in Europe is slowly progressing, the growth in Kenya, Uganda and Rwanda is explosive. The Convergence Worship which the Charismatic Episcopal Church emphasizes, accompanied by the POWER of the Holy Spirit in ministry and life style development, witnesses powerfully to those seriously seeking the renewed life in Jesus Christ.
The response from many who have worshipped in a Charismatic Episcopal Church is "God was invited to come and He did!" Exciting things happen when the Holy Spirit is welcomed to manifest Himself through ministry to the Lord, and ministry to others.
Bishop Weeks' teaching ministry is contributing to the spiritual growth and maturity of these new congregations. From time to time he will on this page share exciting updates.
Bishop Weeks and Hugh W. Kaiser have authored a book entitled NON NOBIS, DOMINE! that tells the exciting story of The Convergence Movement as reflected in the Charismatic Episcopal Church, and is available for $10 per copy plus $2 postage. It is the narrative of their teaching MANUAL prepared for teaching Convergence in developing nations. This book is available free of charge in both Word Perfect [preferred] and Microsoft Word formats as an e-mail attachment, and may be printed for personal use.
